On Sunday 30th June the Keytek® Head Office Team headed out to the Dorset Adventure Park, near Corfe Castle to participate in our annual Charity Day! This year we had chosen to do the ‘Mud Trail’ what we thought was going to be a fun jaunt through some light mud and a few obstacles. What it turned out to be was actually a brutal test of endurance, with obstacles that tested even the fittest among us! Shoes, glasses and dignity were all sacrificed, as well as bruises and scrapes gained.

It was all worth it of course, with a massive thank you going to our very generous Engineers who have so far helped us raise over £1000 for our chosen charity, The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation!

The JTYAF was set up in memory of John Thornton, who was tragically killed in Afghanistan in 2008. John achieved an unbelievable amount in his short 22 years, this included climbing Kilimanjaro, flying with the Red Arrows, travelling across New Zealand, qualifying as a sky diver and working in both Iraq and Afghanistan as an Officer in the Royal Marines. The foundation was set up in his honour to help other young people to achieve their ambitions. Our donation will enable young people to access a range of support to help them achieve their ambitions; this could be a cookery course for an aspiring chef, or paying for an electric tricycle for a boy with cerebral palsy.

We’d like to increase our current total for this brilliant charity, so if  you didn’t get the chance to donate, but would still like, then please give us a call and give whatever you can for this great cause.

To have a look at just how challenging and muddy the day was, please take a look through the gallery of our day at the Mud Trail… it might give you a bit of a laugh too!
